Antonio Scordo holds both Music Education and Educational Technology Specialist NYS Teacher Certifications.  He is also a Microsoft Certified MIE Trainer (Microsoft Innovative Educator) and trains on the use Office 365 on a regular basis.  He is also a Microsoft Certified Minecraft Trainer. 

He has been a Coordinator for Staff Development and Technology Integration for Erie 1 BOCES / Western New York Regional Information Center since 2001. During this time he has worked with many educators on a multitude of topics, hardware, software, and educational practices, such as: Tech Tools for Early Literacy, Podcasting, 3D design, video editing, Audacity, programming for kids, and many more.  Antonio has recently been implementing staff development programs around Minecraft Education Edition in the classroom, coding training for teachers, computational thinking, and Maker Education initiatives.  He has also been active with the Erie 1 BOCES Research and Innovative Project Pilots team, working with teachers and students with 3D Printing, Drones, Code.org, Virtual Reality, and many different robotics platforms.  Antonio also 

In addition to his position with Erie 1 BOCES, Antonio has been on the NYSCATE Fall conference planning committee for the 2006 to 2008 fall statewide conferences (www.nyscate.org).  He has been a NYSCATE presenter for many years (2002 –-2006, 2013, 2015 - 2017), and he has also been a past presenter at the international ISTE Summer Conference: in 2006 (Tech Tools for Early Literacy – Hands-On Workshop), 2007 (Podcasting for Communication: Hands-On Workshop), 2010 (Reaching 21st Century Skills with Scratch : Poster Session), and in 2011 (Programming Microsoft Kodu at the Microsoft Booth on the vendor floor).

More recently, Antonio has been on the NYSCATE Fall Conference Planning Committee from spring 2014 to the present, co-chairing Maker Faire Rochester (http://rochester.makerfaire.com).  Maker Faire Rochester is a Featured Faire, an event that draws thousands of people and hundreds of Makers to create, engage, share, learn, and be inspired.
