ReCREATE! In adding Art to a STEM curriculum, students can learning basic electronics and computer programming while creating fun interactive art projects. This hands-on workshop will guide teachers on building and programming a simple electronic circuit to create a rhythmic music machine. The workshop will show participants, by following a “recipe”, to build a circuit to drive a motor. Participants will then learn simple programming to create rhythms with the motor. At the end of the workshop participants with “play their instruments” together in concert. Further possibilities will be discussed such as adding knobs and other sensors to the circuit.
